Sebastian Izzard LLC participated in JADA's seventh joint exhibition at the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion/Ukrainian Institute, 2 East 79th Street, New York during Asia Week. Running March 15-19, 2014, JADA 2014: An Exhibition by the Japanese Art Dealers Association presented works of art of the highest quality in keeping with JADA's mission to promote high standards of scholarship and connoisseurship in the field of pre-modern Japanese art. Highlights included a painting of two crows on a branch overlooking Asakusa by Kawanabe Kyosai (1831-1889). Works by Tani Buncho (1763-1840), and the Rinpa artist Sakai Hoitsu (1761-1828) were also featured. Sebastian Izzard LLC showed ceramics from the mid-to-late 17th century including a rare large aode-Kutani porcelain dish and an unusual Kakiemon porcelain figure of a young man (wakashu). Ukiyo-e Paintings, Prints and Illustrated Books of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries was shown at Sebastian Izzard LLC, 17 East 76th Street, New York, opening March 15 and running through March 21, 2014. The exhibition featured paintings by The Edo artists Miyagawa Choshun (1683-1753), Okumura Masanobu (1686-1764), and Utagawa Toyokuni (1769-1825). Woodblock prints and illustrated books by many of the most popular print artists of the day were included as well as a fine selection of surimono by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849).
